Joni Mitchell Calls Bob Dylan a ‘Fake’
By · Comments
Joni Mitchell has a couple of things in common with Bob Dylan.
Both are folk rock icons. Both, too, have stage names. Mitchell used to be known as Roberta Joan Anderson, while Dylan’s given name was Robert Zimmerman.
Interestingly, Joni was being interviewed by the Los Angeles Times when the name change comparison was brought up. She responded by labeling Dylan a “fake” and a “plagiarist.”
“Bob is not authentic at all,” Mitchell said. “He’s a plagiarist, and his name and voice are fake. Everything about Bob is a deception.”
She insists that she is nothing like the minstrel of Malibu. “We are like night and day, he and I,” Joni said.
She chalked up the difference between her original surname and the stage version to her marriage.
“As for my name, my parents wanted a boy, so they called me Robert John; when I came out a girl, they just added two letter ‘A’s to that. Then I married Chuck Mitchell; I wanted to keep my maiden name – I had a bit of a following as Joni Anderson – but he wouldn’t let me,” Mitchell said.
Wasn’t there another famous person whose original name was Barry Soetoro?

Dr. Conrad Murray’s legal defense in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case is being reported by TMZ, and if the report is true, it’s a shocker.
The accused physician is allegedly going to contend in court that the pop singer gave himself a fatal dose of the operating room drug, Propofol, when Murray stepped out of the room for a two-minute restroom break.
Michael’s father is reportedly “horrified” by the Murray defense. Joe Jackson told TMZ, “I don’t believe it. It’s not true. Why would he [Dr. Murray] hide all the bottles if such a story were true?” Excerpt: CLICK HERE FOR MORE

“Avatar” director James Cameron is used to ordering people around, as is the practice of many Hollywood directors. But in an interview with PBS’s Charlie Rose, Cameron voiced his desire to have his movie declared Best Picture at the Academy Awards and for the voting members to give best director to his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow the Best Director award.

Roger Ebert Attacks Rush Limbaugh over Haiti
By · CommentsFilm Critic Roger Ebert, although outspoken about his anti-torture views, is not particularly consistent in his pacifist rhetoric.
In his review of the movie “Taxi to the Dark Side,” Ebert criticized Dick Cheney for the torture that is ascribed to the Bush administration in the film.
At the same time, though, Ebert called for talk radio host Rush Limbaugh to be horsewhipped for questioning President Obama’s push of the White House government Web site as the way for a caring public to make donations to help Haiti.
Ebert penned an open letter to Limbaugh in the Chicago Sun Times, writing that “having followed President Obama’s suggestion and donated money to the Red Cross for relief in Haiti, I was offended to hear you [Limbaugh] suggest the President might be a thief capable of stealing money intended for the earthquake victims.”
Limbaugh made no such suggestion. Ebert instead pulled the inflammatory words from his posterior but went on to reference a conversation that Rush had with one of his callers on his radio show. ..Excerpt: CLICK HERE FOR MORE.
