PIXAR head-honcho JOHN LASSITER was in Cannes to promote the upcoming animated epic, UP. It’s a story about a grumpy, old man whose house is elevated into the wild blue with the help of some helium inflated balloons. At the UP press conference, LASSITER told us that even animated films get heavily researched. (Click on the media bar below):

Director DONALD PETRIE  (MISS CONGENIALITY, JUST MY LUCK) is no stranger to working in films by, for and about women. But he holds some of his highest praise for NIA VARDALOS, the star of his latest project, MY LIFE IN RUINS. We spoke with PETRIE recently and he talked about VARDALOS’ determination. Hands down, the most controversial film at this year’s CANNES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL was director LARS VON TRIER’S much anticipated ANTICHRIST. Reportedly met with jeers and walk-outs at it’s premier screening, the film was considered an outrage. Lance Armstrong reportedly couldn’t handle Sheryl Crow’s need for marriage and children and subsequently dumped her back in 2005. According to the new book about the Tour de France King, aptly titled “Lance” (no jazz hands despite the fact I feel their should be) he grew tired of the baby argument. (As in he didn’t want her to crap one out, but wasn’t opposed to dating them. Enter Ashley Olsen.)

Per “Lance” Via NY Post:

“She wanted marriage, she wanted children; and not that I didn’t want that, but I didn’t want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I’d just had kids [Luke, Grace and Bella],” Armstrong, 37, reveals. “Yet we’re up against her biological clock — that pressure is what cracked it.”

He went on to reveal to the “Lance” author that his baby making skills are a gift.

“Because if somebody wants a child — man, that’s the greatest gift you can give to a woman — so who are you to stand there and say I don’t want one. So we were at different points in our lives. We were not compatible on that issue.”

Crow said screw that noise and it May 2007 she adopted a two week old baby boy she named Wyatt Steven Crow. Even Armstrong is expecting another addition despite his lack of interest in having more children. His current girlfriend, Anna Hansen announced her pregnancy last December and is expected to deliver next month.

It takes balls to say something like that. Errr…I guess it only takes a uni-ball to say something like that. Anyway…the point? Sheryl Crow is hot, Lance Armstong is a fertile but stingy uni-ball and it’s a really slow news day.

If you listened to music about four years ago, you may remember a singer named Ashanti. She had a few songs of her own, sold a few albums. Most importantly, she started showing up with rappers like Fat Joe and Ja Rule on their songs. Coattails…gotta love them.

However, you probably haven’t heard of her recently. That’s likely due to the fact that her last album, ‘The Declaration’, failed to bring in the numbers that her earlier work did. The last time I heard of her was when she spent a couple months making out with Jesse Metcalf for the flick “John Tucker Must Die”, which believe it or not, I love.

Her lack of appeal hasn’t gone unnoticed by her boss, Irv Gotti-label head for The Inc. (formerly Murder Inc. Records). He announced recently that Ashanti and her label are parting ways.

Via MTV News:

“The relationship has run its course. The chemistry of what’s needed — we’re in two totally different places. You’re talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up.”

This is bad news for Ashanti’s esthetician who was likely making nice cash keeping those sideburns of hers under control.

On the bright side, Ashanti is rumored to have turned down a scholarship to Yale in order to pursue her music career. Maybe they’ll reconsider reinstating it?

One of the worlds most desirable men constantly has females throwing himself at him, including two female co-stars if you believe the rumors out there. But it looks as though our favorite vampire can’t get enough female attention! According to new rumors, Robert Pattinson has been frequenting a local Vancouver strip club while in town to shoot his “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon.” While spending time at Brandi’s Exotic Nightclub on more than one occasion, Sparklepants has apparently taken a liking to a curvy adult entertainer named Kendra who gave him a private lap dance on his first visit.

Per Star Magazine:

“She’s very pretty and very sexy,” one insider at Brandi’s says about the object of Rob’s affection. “She reminds me of Bo Derek in 10.”

Robert must have liked what he saw because he was said to have returned asking for her specifically two days later. *Cue the crying teenage fangirls* But just what does the 5′7″ Blonde stripper who caught Sparklepants eye have to say?

Per The Examiner:

“[Rob] is not a great tipper, but that’s OK because he was sweet.”

Anyone else thinks its funny that pictures of his every move are floating around all over, yet no pictures of this supposed event have shown up yet? The proof is in the pictures… whereas, as of right now, there isn’t any. Yes, it’s ridiculous. Someone alert the church elders! A single man in his twenties with gobs of cash likes strip joints. *Note sarcasm.
