Airing tonight on the USA Network, the popular original series FAIRLY LEGAL stars actress SARAH SHAHI as a passionate and playful San Francisco mediator who is battling a whole new conflict in a sharp, hustling, up-and-coming trial lawyer played by series newcomer RYAN JOHNSON. We spoke with SHAHI at the Television Critics Association press event to promote the series and she admitted that having a weekly show hasn’t hurt her anonymity in the least. Country singer Skylar Laine, whose take no prisoners approach to performing is one of this season’s American Idol highlights, was eliminated from the competition last night, leaving Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, and Jessica Sanchez as the final four.
“(Finishing) fifth in American Idol,” says Laine, who is pulling for her two closest friends in the competition, Joshua Ledet and Hollie Cavanagh. “I couldn’t ask for anything more than that. It’s crazy. I’m really happy for whoever wins and I hope that they have a long career and I hope I have a long career.”
As she prepares for the upcoming Idol summer tour, Laine adds that she would love to have a brief break to recharge her batteries:

Arriving in theaters tomorrow, THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL is a delightfully romantic fantasy that centers on a group of Brit retirees seeking to live out their lives in an Indian hotel that turns out to be considerably less luxurious than described. Directed by JOHN MADDEN, the all-star cast includes JUDI DENCH, TOM WILKINSON, MAGGIE SMITH, PENELOPE WILTON, BILL NIGHY and DEV PATEL. Shot in and around Jaipur, the experience was a bit of a culture shock for some of the cast. Jason Ritter Plays Dumb In ‘A Bag Of Hammers’

Soon to be seen as KATHLEEN TURNER’S ne’er-do-well son in the satiric dramedy THE PERFECT FAMILY, actor JASON RITTER will follow with another offbeat film titled A BAG OF HAMMERS. A comedy/drama hybrid, the film centers on a couple of irresponsible petty thieves who refuse to grow up until an abandoned child forces their hand. Co-written (with star JAKE SANDVIG) and directed by BRIAN CRANO, the cast also includes CHANDLER CANTERBURY, REBECCA HALL, CARRIE PRESTON, TODD LOUISO, AMANDA SEYFRIED and GABRIEL MACHT.
