IS ANGELINA JOLIE TOO OLD TO PLAY LARA CROFT FOR NEXT TOMB RAIDER MOVIE?
Posted by: | CommentsANGELINA JOLIE has been ditched by the producers of the TOMB RAIDER movies after they decided she’s now too old for the role.
The Hollywood beauty starred in the first two Tomb Raider films in 2001 and 2003, but movie bosses will replace the 33-year-old with a younger star for the next instalment.
Producer Dan Lin says, “We are rebooting Lara Croft. It’s a great story that we’re going to tell, very character-orientated and more realistic than the past movies. It is an origin tale so it’s going to be a younger Lara Croft.”

DID ADAM LAMBERT & SUSAN BOYLE ACTUALLY WIN EVEN THOUGH THEY DIDN’T?
Posted by: | CommentsHow is it possible, you wonder, that Susan Boyle lost “Britain’s Got Talent” just days after Adam Lambert lost “American Idol“? There may be a harsh reality behind both reality TV shows that got it wrong. Boyle and Lambert may have lost public contests because of their private lives.
Many observers believe Boyle and Lambert lost since they were so heavily favored to win that voters picked opponents because they wanted their votes to have maximum effect. But that didn’t stop earlier “American Idol” front-runners Fantasia Barrino, Taylor Hicks and Carrie Underwood from prevailing.
Personally, I think the results of these contests reveal more about the prejudices of the voters than they do about the real talent of contestants. In Lambert’s case, he obviously had greater artistic chops than Kris Allen, just like Clay Aiken was so clearly superior to Ruben Studdard, but both lost as whispers that they might be gay became deafening.
In the case of YouTube sensation Susan Boyle, she was probably defeated by one of the same things that propelled her to the finals: her frumpiness. She had enough support among a passionate minority to get her thus far, but when she needed the backing of a majority of the masses, she flopped.
In the end, take solace, fans of Boyle and Lambert — over time they will have more substantial showbiz careers than the rivals who beat them, just like the outcome of Aiken versus Studdard. Those passionate minority fan bases will become more energized to rally behind their idols, proving them to be the real winners.

On this day in 1930, actor Clint Eastwood is born in San Francisco. With his father, he wandered the West Coast as a boy during the Depression. After four years in the Army Special Services, Eastwood came to Hollywood, winning small roles. For eight years, he played Rowdy Yates in the popular TV western series Rawhide and later starred in three low-budget “spaghetti” westerns: Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More, (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), all of which became hits. Eastwood’s real breakthrough came with the smash hit Dirty Harry, which was followed by four sequels in the 1970s and 1980s. Eastwood began directing in 1971; Unforgiven (1992), which he directed and starred in, won the Best Picture Oscar.

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Belgium’s intrepid cub reporter will be breaking his first big-screen story in time for Christmas 2011. The two studios are coproducing the 3-D motion-capture event film, the first in a pair the E.T. director is doing with Lord of the Rings master Peter Jackson (who will helm the sequel). But in an unusual move, Paramount and Sony plan to roll out Tintin internationally up to two months before the U.S. release.
SUSAN BOYLE IS 2ND BEST WHEN IT COMES TO BRITAN’S GOT TALENT

She dreamed a dream, and it very nearly came true.
But Susan Boyle’s reality show journey finished Saturday with a second-place finish in the finals of “Britain’s Got Talent,” an ending that didn’t fit the fairy tale. Instead of the 48-year-old Internet sensation, an exuberant dance troupe called “Diversity” took the $159,000 prize and will perform for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show.
Boyle paced around the stage as the hosts named the top three of the ten final acts, and looked almost relieved when her name was called as the runner-up. She recovered in time to graciously praise the dancers.
“The best people won,” Boyle said. “They’re very entertaining. Lads, I wish you all the best.”
