With  Transformers, Cowboys & Aliens, Star Trek, and Mission: Impossible III under his belt, screenwriter/producer Alex Kurtzman decided to venture into an entirely different genre with his directorial debut, People Like Us.

Opening June 29th, the DreamWorks feature stars Star Trek’s Chris Pine as Sam, a salesman who’s way over his head in debt.  When his late father leaves $150,000 to the sister (Elizabeth Banks) Sam never knew he had, he ingratiates himself into her life without spilling the beans about the cash.

The movie also stars Cowboys & Aliens director Jon Favreau and the sci-fi/Western film’s lead actress, Olivia Wilde.  After watching Pine kill it on the Los Angeles stage a couple of summers ago in The Lieutenant of Inishmore (he played a cat loving terrorist), I’ve been waiting for the actor to sink his teeth into something a bit more character driven than Unstoppable and This Means War.  People Like Us, blessed with a stellar cast (including Michelle Pfeiffer), could be that vehicle. UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIF. – June 3, 2009 – Heidi and Spencer Pratt will return to NBC’s hit reality series “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” live tonight (8-9 p.m. ET) after quitting (for the third time) in last night’s episode.  The couple’s fate will lie with the remaining cast members who will determine if they are welcome back in the competition.

Also in tonight’s episode, actor Daniel Baldwin surprises brother Stephen Baldwin when he is dropped into the Costa Rican jungle as the newest cast member competing for money for their favorite charity.

In addition, NBC is expanding its Monday, June 8 episode to two hours from 8-10 p.m. ET.

The series airs Monday-Thursday in its regular 8-9 p.m. time slot for four weeks until the final week of the show, with the finale on Wednesday, June 24 (8-9 p.m. ET).  In addition, each Sunday beginning June 7, MTV will air a marathon of the week’s episodes including never-before-seen footage and commentary from cast members in real time, providing an enhanced viewing experience for die-hard fans.

Co-hosted by Damien Fahey and Myleene Klass, “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” is the ultimate “Swiss Family Robinson” as celebrities are dropped into the heart of the Costa Rican jungle to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills.  America is the puppet master, controlling their favorite celebrities by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items.  In each episode, friendships will be tested, hilarity will ensue and viewers will decide which celebrities stay or go.  The last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning a substantial cash prize for his or her favorite charity.

Eclectic actress and gossip-column favorite dethrones media maven Oprah Winfrey atop this year’s Celebrity 100. Jolie has always been able to attract tabloid attention and Oscar nods, but this year, she’s finally figured out a way to make serious money. Her most recent blockbuster, Wanted, proved this mother of six’s sweet spot is action films; the movie earned $340 million at the box office. Up next: Salt, in which Jolie plays a CIA officer accused of being a spy.

We don’t know how we missed this before, but sometime in the last few months, Conan O’Brien took over for Jay Leno as host of the Tonight Show! We know, we know, can you believe it? All kidding aside, night two of Conan’s brand-new gig was a better indication of how his show will go than night one, which mainly consisted of video bits highlighting Conan’s attempt to transform himself into an Angeleno. There were some of those last night, too — specifically, there was a mildly humorous pretaped segment where Conan got confused between the posh Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and the rugged Rodeo Road in Compton — but in general, the show stuck a little closer to the kinds of topical humor that have been a staple of late-night comedy ever since the genre was invented. However, there was one topic that has bubbled up in popularity in the time since Conan went off the air in February that he finally got the chance to address: Twitter!

Judging by the way this bit was slanted, it’s readily apparent that Conan sees Twitter as nothing more than a way for celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Dennis Haysbert to indulge in ego-tripping. From the way the whole bit was positioned (which, btw, would’ve been greatly improved had Conan used real tweets instead of fake ones as a base), Conan kind of comes off like he’s dismissive of not only the banal ways in which a lot of celebrities tend to tweet, but also of the service in general. This, of course, stands in stark contrast to the way Jimmy Fallon has worked to position himself as someone who embraces Internet culture, new media, geeky gadgets, and the like.

After years starring on the hit HBO series THE SOPRANOS, EDIE FALCO is returning to television as the star of SHOWTIME’s black dramedy NURSE JACKIE. We sat in on the recent press event for the show and FALCO answered a question about ‘why’ she chose to take on another series at this time. Listen in below:

Eminem may have been assaulted by Sascha Baron Cohen’s bare butt during Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, but it looks like Cohen’s gay Austrian fashion reporter alter ego may have done some permanent damage.

Richelle Olson, the Executive Director of Desert Valley Charities, has sued Cohen, NBC Universal and others for unspecified damages claiming that the actor (as Bruno) “offensively touched, pushed and battered” her at a Bingo Hall in 2007, TMZ.com is reporting.

The two reportedly entangled after Olson tried to wrestle the mic away from “Bruno,” who was calling the numbers at a charity bingo game she ran in Palmdale, CA. The altercation consequently caused Olsen to fall to the ground.

Olson described Cohen, 37, as an “extreme, outrageous, offensive caricature of a gay man dressed in sexually revealing clothing with an Austrain accent” and alleges that after her “humiliation and embarrassment” was recorded, she began “sobbing uncontrollably,” lost consciousness, and then fell forward onto a “thinly covered concrete slab.”

Olson was diagnosed with “two brain bleeds” after passing out and hitting her head, and has been confined to a wheelchair and walker ever since.

“Up” is Pixar’s 10th movie, and it’s got a lot to live up to.  After all, the studio’s lowest-grossing movie made $162.8 million, and seven of the previous nine have surpassed $200 million!  The studio’s chief, John Lasseter, believes “Up” is up to the task, because it fits the basic criteria the studio shoots for with every film they release.  (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR BELOW TO HEAR JOHN LASSETER)
