Posted by: | Comments
Judging from the trailer just released this week, TED promises to be every bit as off-beat (and off-color) as what fans have come to expect from the quirky MacFARLANE but may come as a surprise to fans of WAHLBERG. At the last press conference to promote WAHLBERG’S hit series ENTOURAGE, he admitted it was a pretty far-out concept. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

An Obsession With Detail Led James Cameron To A Record-Breaking Blockbuster
Posted by: | Comments
We sat down to an exclusive interview with CAMERON in December of ‘97 and talked about all the controversy surrounding the film’s extensive shooting schedule. Much was made in the press about the filmmaker’s obsession with “attention to detail” but he told us that the “obsession” belonged to everyone involved. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
It might seem hard to believe now but, prior to TITANIC’S release, there were nay-sayers who thought the film would tank. We asked CAMERON if, after all was said and done, it was all worth it. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

‘Rock Of Ages’ Puts ’80s Hair Back In The Spotlight
Posted by: | CommentsOpening in theaters this Summer, ROCK OF AGES is the big screen adaptation of the mega-popular stage musical that began as a bar show in Los Angeles before going Off-Broadway and, eventually, Broadway. Directed by ADAM SHANKMAN, the all-star cast includes TOM CRUISE, JULIANNE HOUGH, DIEGO BONETA, MALIN AKERMAN, ALEC BALDWIN, BRYAN CRANSTON, RUSSELL BRAND, PAUL GIAMATTI and CATHERINE ZETA-JONES. Set in L.A. in 1987, this is a celebration of heavy metal that could well polarize the hair band fans. We had occasion to sit down with ROCK OF AGES co-writer CHRIS D’ARIENZO (with PATRICK WILSON, for their film BARRY MUNDAY) and he talked about how surprised he is at all the attention the show has gotten.
The trailer for the upcoming film was just released this week:

Leonardo DiCaprio Never Expected A ‘Walk In The Park’ While Shooting ‘Titanic’
Posted by: | Comments
Already the recipient of his first Oscar nomination (WHAT’S EATING GILBERT GRAPE?), DiCAPRIO wasn’t known for his interest in epic blockbusters and concentrated more on small, intimate performances in films such as THE BASKETBALL DIARIES and MARVIN’S ROOM. So, it came as a surprise when he signed on to CAMERON’S massive retelling of the world’s most famous shipwreck.
We spoke with DiCAPRIO for the film’s original 1997 release and he admitted that it was an unlikely choice and that he knew it would be a completely different experience than what he was used to. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)

Gloria Stuart Brought A Classic Style To Cameron’s ‘Titanic’
Posted by: | Comments
California-born, STUART started her acting career in the early 1930s as a Universal contract player who was quickly cast in a series of low budget pictures. A protege of the iconic director JAMES WHALE, she is probably best remembered from that era for her role in his 1932 horror film THE OLD DARK HOUSE. During an interview we did with the actress in December of 1997, STUART talked about the similarities between WHALE and CAMERON. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
A closeted homosexual until he retired from filmmaking, WHALE and STUART dated briefly and she assures us that she never had an inkling that the director was gay until it was revealed years later. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
One of our all-time favorite interviews, GLORIA STUART was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in TITANIC and yet another generation will get to know her with the film’s 3D re-release this week.
